Hungary’s largest film studio, Stern Film Studio & Media Center is scheduled to open in September 2004 in Pomáz, north of Budapest with the aim of providing a shooting location that meets the demands of both local and international filmmakers. Stern Film will offer Hungarian and international productions two soundstages and auxiliary buildings (production offices, make-up rooms, dressing rooms, set construction and costume workshops, restaurants, truck and trailer parking, etc.).

The management of Stern Film hopes to provide beneficial working conditions at the Pomáz ‘film factory’, which can become a center of filmmaking in Hungary. The facilities currently under construction will be twice as big as Mafilm’s 1,000-square-meter Máriássy and Huszárik sound stages – Hungary’s largest such facilities to date.
